The SensAssist project goal is to develop a system for automatic monitoring of 3 biological parameters (EEG, ECG and pulse oximetry), permanently wearable by the patient, the acquired data being permanently sent to a monitoring center, were the patient is managed by an automatic assistance platform. This means more than a polysomnography monitor (PSG) or a monitor for some biological parameters, usable in monitoring patient’s health status. The proposed system is a wearable solution for monitoring the patient’s health 24hours a day, transmitting the collected data via mobile phone to a monitoring center, where an eHealth platform manages the patient’s health status information. Basing on these data, routine or emergency interventions may be done in a very short time. The beneficiaries of this system are monitored patients, aged people and monitored healthy subjects. There is a huge pressure presently at European level regarding the elderly population over the social insurance services and medical assistance, so their realtime monitoring will be welcomed. The innovation of the proposal consists in developing a system composed of a set of wearable sensors for biological parameters detection (including EEG, ECG and pulse oximetry), a data collection and transmitting module that gathers information from the sensors and transmits them via mobile phone (specific mobile applications are developed) to a remote center, where data are read by a receiver module and managed by an eHealth platform.
