Transnational Call
2018
The aging of the population and the rapid increase in health care costs have aroused much interest in wearable medical sensors. Traditionally, hospital monitoring devices, such as ECG and EEG monitors, have been used to detect and store raw medical data, which will then be processed on another machine, such as an external computer. Several trends in communication, signal processing, machine learning and biomedical detection have converged to advance the continuous monitoring of health from a distant vision to the threshold of reality. The main one of these trends is the development of medical sensors that can be connected to the Internet, which can sense, collect and even noninvasively process different types of related data, for example, electrical, thermal and optical signals generated by the human body. Portable sensors allow for proactive prevention and remote detection of health problems, thus with the potential to significantly reduce health care costs. We can say that the use of the project result will allow a considerable increase in the quality of life of the population and the prevention of incidents in the future.

  • Meeting: SENSASSIST - Network health monitoring, August 12-14, 2019 (Brasov, Romania, Organizator-Laurentiu Baschir)
  • August 2019 Kick-off meeting, a avut loc in Romania

The intelligent network health monitoring system is a telemedicine system through which the patient can be monitored at home from a remote center. This makes it possible to improve the response time of emergency medical units to assist patients as well as, now in a pandemic, to monitor non-COVID patients at home, thus unlocking hospitals. A system has been developed that uses small, lightweight components that ensure portability, and its versatile architecture allows the addition of other sensors without making changes to the system. The system uses the BITalino platform and is composed of the BITalino Core motherboard and the BITalino ECG sensors, the BITalino EEG and the Pulse Oximeter.
Interfața grafică a utilizatorului permite obținerea și analiza în timp real a datelor achiziționate de senzori.
